I tried to make a post last night, but when I finished typing I discovered my internet connection was gone. I think the very old broadband modem provided by my ISP got zapped in one of our recent storms, because I've had to reboot it twice in the past two days. The plan was to send Spike off adventuring in the cosmos after BtVS ended, and the title of the show had to be said with Spiiiiiike drawn out, like the title sequence in the Muppet's "Piiiiiiigs in Space." (Stop snickering. This was veeeeerrry important!)

( New Chapter: The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galactica )

One of the requests I received when I offered to write fic for Katrina relief was for this crossover. It took me a while to think of what I could do with him there, and even longer to figure out how to get him on board the Galactica. I'm proud of how he enters the story, but don't tell him that. For some reason, he doesn't seem very pleased.

This is the first chapter, in which Spike makes his grand entrance. PG so far, Spoilers through "Pegasus" for BSG. There may be references to any episode on BtVS and AtS without further warning. Or not. I have a plot outline, but it's not completely filled in yet. Pairings? I'm going to be a bit of a tease there.

I also lack a title. I was considering "Spiiiiike in Space," out of nostalgia for the Spinoffs thread on Band of Buggered, where we sent our vamp on galactic adventures reminiscent of the "Pigs in Space" muppet episodes. But to according to that thread, Spike should have a pet dog also named Spike, and the current plot outline doesn't call for a puppy. I have a few other ideas, but I'm open to more. Actually, I'm begging for more.
