SGK changes its stance on supporting Planned Parenthood.

They succeeded only in increasing awareness. Now many people will examine them more critically before donating. More importantly, Planned Parenthood's work in providing general healthcare and cancer screening has been well publicized.

ETA: SGK is now going to feel the rage of the religious right because they've back-pedaled. Somewhat incoherent anger being expressed here.

the thing is, when you come against spirits like Judas & Jezebel, you have to be willing to die. most of these corporations aren't willing to do that...

Um, what?

Well, I had a lovely chat with a guy at New Balance about how there were more effective partners for them. He told me that they are tracking customer feedback on the issue. He was very sweet and kept apologizing for SGK. Not your fault, I told him.

Honest Tea, a West Cast race sponsor, posted the following:

Honest Tea has been a strong supporter of cancer education and research. We have supported many organizations including the National Foundation for Cancer Research, American Institute for Cancer Research, Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, as well as Susan G. Komen for the Cure. We are in the process of evaluating our 2012 partnerships, including reviewing the recent changes to Susan G. Komen’s policies.
