What should I do with my uterus?
18th-Apr-2012 11:39 pm
I knitted a uterus while watching TV tonight. I was going to send it to one of my Senators, but I know he won't pay attention and he's not the worst of the lot when it comes to legislating against reproductive rights and women's health. Besides, he already knows I hate him. (I have his office on speed dial. And I'm always polite. Just politely negative.) My other senator and my rep are pretty decent guys. Anyone have a really awful rep or senator they'd like me to gift with his very own uterus so he can stop paying so much attention to ours?

Naw -- they'd throw it away, and it's so cute! How about in place of fuzzy dice on the rear-view window?

It would hook on their nicely, but I'm not using my other uterus any more, as I seem to have finally passed through menopause. It seems selfish to keep two.

Having put up with menopause, you have the right to be selfish. Sooooo cute! Keep the damned thing or sent it to me! Now there's an idea!

That is just all kinds of fantastic

LOL, it's a whole movement! The idea is to show that even the kind of women who they imagine like to knit are pissed off.

Best use of yarn ever.

I may make another. At first it seemed silly, but I like the idea of showing them that nice, womanly knitters are up in arms.

i just have to say you are using your knitting powers for such good you made me grin (and that it makes me wish i had a senator for you to send this to, but i am also simultaneously glad i don't)

Thanks. I'm sure I'll find someone. There are plenty out there.

I'd be surprised if they haven't heard about it. I do love the name "Order of the Knitted Uterus" though!

I do like the idea of hanging it in your car window.

It would look cute there.

I must agree with rabid1st on where to send this lovely knitted item. And I'm astonished at the talent needed to knit such a thing! Truly marvelous!

Thanks, but it's actually a very easy pattern and I didn't think up the idea.

Your uterus is AWESOME. My state didn't rate on the top 10 scariest states to have a uterus, but maybe you could send it to one of those?

Thanks! I can always make more too. I've got a new great-niece or nephew to make things for but he/she won't be arriving until October, and uteri are pretty easy.

OMG! I love it! LOVE IT! You are awesome, that is all I have to say.

Heh, it's a very simple pattern. I wish I'd been the one to come up with the idea.

Well...you could always send it to our governor, but I don't think he'd listen either. I love the idea, though. Knitting FTW!

My sympathies on your governor. I think he's worse than ours, alas.

I can't help with choice of recipient, but I am very impressed by your knitting skills - and it seems to me to be the perfect gift for some of your politicians.

Thanks, it's actually a very simple pattern and was fun to do.

How about Nebraska's douchebag governor, Heineman?
23rd-Apr-2012 12:42 am (UTC)
He's gotten two votes, so I think he's the winner!

yay! (that douche)

I love you :)
